Electreon introduces Lite DOT, a wireless EV charging system that automates charging as soon as vehicles park, streamlining the charging experience.

Electreon has revealed a wireless electric vehicle (EV) charging system named the Electreon Lite DOT, designed to simplify the charging process to the point where it's as effortless as parking. This innovative system targets passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and autonomous models.
Making its debut at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover from September 14 to 20, Lite DOT stands out for its installation approach. Unlike many conventional wireless charging systems that require extensive modification to existing infrastructure, this solution can be installed above ground with very minimal site preparation.
Lite DOT boasts a wireless charging capacity of up to 11 kW, comparable to the levels commonly found in home EV charging setups. “The future of electric mobility is wireless, and it will soon be available in every parking space,” stated Oren Ezer, the Chairman and CEO of Electreon.
Effortless Charging Process
The Lite DOT system excels in its ease of use: drivers can simply park, and charging commences without any manual connection of cables or handling of connectors. Once a compatible vehicle is aligned over the charging pad, the system recognizes it and starts the charging process automatically.
This technology is versatile, suitable for both private vehicle owners and commercial fleet operators. It can be deployed both outdoors and in garage settings, and it’s engineered to withstand a variety of weather conditions, including extremes from -30 to 50 degrees Celsius (-22 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit).
Lite DOT consists of three key components: an above-ground wireless charging pad, a wall- or pole-mounted control unit, and Electreon’s Flow mobile application. Vehicles need a compatible wireless charging receiver, which can either be provided by Electreon or sourced from its partners in the automotive sector.
Enhanced Usability for Fleet Operators
One of the primary target markets for Electreon’s system is fleet operators. Traditional charging practices require personnel to frequently plug and unplug vehicles, making them vulnerable to damage from dirt, moisture, and wear. Lite DOT eliminates much of this handling, enabling vehicles to charge automatically during typical parking times, be it at depots, workplaces, or delivery sites.
“Fleet operators need flexible and scalable charging concepts that can be easily installed at their sites and parking facilities and integrated into day-to-day operations,” commented Dr. Andreas Wendt, Managing Director of Electreon Germany.
Simplified Installation Approach
Another standout feature of Lite DOT is its straightforward installation method. Instead of needing significant ground excavation to embed charging infrastructure, the charging pad is effectively placed above ground in parking spaces. This approach allows for easier installations at pre-existing facilities, potentially streamlining the process.
The design also considers the integration of autonomous vehicles, where charging begins automatically once the vehicle is parked in position. This could align well with the growing trend of automated driving technologies.
Vision for a Wireless Future
As Electreon launches Lite DOT amidst a rising tide of global interest in electric vehicles, the company envisions that wireless charging could evolve into a staple of EV infrastructure. By enabling vehicles to recharge simply during parking, this system could fundamentally alter how we think about vehicle charging.
Moreover, Electreon is exploring advanced wireless charging technologies that could facilitate charging EVs while in motion, potentially reducing the reliance on large battery packs and lengthy charging breaks.
Lite DOT serves as a concrete step toward realizing the broader ambition of wireless charging efficiency, allowing EV users to park, walk away, and let their vehicles charge autonomously. The introduction of this technology at IAA Transportation 2026 marks a significant advancement in making wireless EV charging practical for everyday use.
